A recent Jewellery, Jazz & Wine workshop in Ochre’s beautiful, light filled studio in the Northern Rivers.
The event will allow you to design and create your very own custom pieces. Think earrings, necklaces, bracelets and more!
The upcoming event will be paired with a selection of local drinks and appetisers.
“Just like booking a really lovely restaurant, my hope is that Ochre’s workshops feel like a memorable experience. A chance to slow down, connect and leave with something you’ve made with your own hands.”
From findings to wire, stringing to attaching, Lauren will walk guests through the jewellery basics, so every piece leaves finished, considered and wearable.
You will have access to a beautiful collection of pearls, handmade ceramic beads, colourful glass beads and high quality gold filled and sterling silver jewellery findings.
Ochre, founded by ceramicist Lauren Siemonsma in the Northern Rivers almost a decade ago, has built a devoted creative community around her Jewellery, Jazz & Wine workshops in the region.
Built around slow making, thoughtful design and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that feels increasingly rare, the workshops have gathered a following that stretches beyond the Northern Rivers. Lucky for us, Lauren is now bringing her workshop to Sydney for a series of events across two days.
Hosted in the light-filled Art Department Studio in Woolloomooloo, the workshops will be shaped around a long table laid with ceramic dishes of pearls, handmade beads, colourful glass and sterling silver and gold-filled findings.
Guests will spend two hours designing and assembling their own pieces—earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets—while wine is poured, a cheese platter circulates, and jazz fills the room. Lauren will move through the space, offering guidance when (and if!) you need it.
The workshops are the kind of experience that's difficult to categorise but very easy to love. Somewhere between a dinner party and a creative studio, it's a space that allows us to slow down, pay attention, connect, and make something with our hands. The best kind of slow-release dopamine hit!
'Just like booking a really lovely restaurant, my hope is that Ochre's workshops feel like a memorable experience,' says Lauren. 'A chance to slow down and leave with something you've made with your own hands.'
That instinct of creating something slowly and intentionally is its own form of indulgence, and is at the heart of Lauren's workshops, and the Sydney events will be no exception.
Whether you arrive knowing exactly what you want to make or with no idea at all, you'll leave with something beautiful.
