Celebrating warm, inviting spaces and the role materiality and form plays in our homes, RJ Living’s new collection, Adorned in Texture, includes a range of furniture pieces that encourage depth and evoke our emotions.
Inspired by new fabrics and materials, the Adorned in Texture collection features textural Glore fabrics on opulent sofas as well as a selection of new marble coffee pieces—all showcasing a new tactile and unique materiality direction. Each piece is crafted with precision and care, blending modern design with the timeless beauty of nature, creating a focal point and elevating any interior.
‘We believe that texture is one of the greatest ways to add visual interest within a space, it creates depth and allows your space to feel more cohesive. Colour is often peoples starting point, but for this collection we wanted to look at these unique textures and materials and see how they would work together,’ says Marcel Mena from RJ Living.
The design process for Adorned in Texture was created with a selection of new upholstery items, which were applied to pieces to showcase their unique characteristics. Head stylist at RJ Living, Jess Galtry, worked with a palette of earthy natural colours to awaken a sense of grounding within an interior. ‘The choice of an earthy and neutral palette reflects our desire to evoke a sense of harmony and natural beauty,’ shares Marcel.
Moving beyond purely the sense of sight, the collection leans heavily into texture and tactility, adding layers of depth and dimension into a space. ‘Jessica created an immersive experience that went beyond the boundaries of the furniture pieces,’ says Marcel. The inclusion of the plush textures evoke emotion and connection, inviting the user to touch and explore the pieces. ‘In a world where many experiences are increasingly digital and detached, emphasising texture and tactility in our homes can foster a deeper connection to the space you are in,’ Marcel says.
The Grado & Ode sofas within the new collection are plush and generously proportioned, a signature design feature for the brand. These characteristics create a focus on comfort, luxury and relaxation. ‘A plush sofa with generous proportions not only provides physical comfort but also creates a welcoming and inviting atmosphere in a living space,’ shares Marcel. Additional pieces within the new collection include the Plum Sofa and Armchair, The Addy Modular Sofa, The Nell Dining Chair, The Almos Bench and Stool and the Claude, Artie and Bodie marble coffee tables.
Colours within Adorned In Texture feature irresistible hues such as earthy plum, opal forest, Copenhagen grey, caramel hued leathers and earth coloured marble—tones which create a versatile and timeless collection and can be easily integrated into various spaces and styled in many unique ways. ‘The neutral and earthy tones allow the rich texture across the materials to do the talking, emphasising luxurious materiality,’ adds Marcel.
