Spending a couple of hours being pampered can transport us to a state of total relaxation and absolute bliss. Whether it’s a massage, face treatment or pedicure, we often leave feeling like a brand new person. Although the treatment itself is incredibly important, so is the space it takes place in.

The Parlour Room, a leading luxury beauty destination, recently redesigned by Alex Morrison Interiors, is a soft and timeless oasis, the perfect beauty destination that is equally calm, airy and incredible soothing.

The Parlour Room (TPR) is one of two concept stores located in Clovelly, creating an all-encompassing destination, committed to helping clients look and feel their best. TPR is known for their excellent manicures, perfect spray tans, and flawless brows.

After a decade at the location, owner and founder, Natalie Ferrari, thought it was due time for a refresh, focusing on a new and modern makeover of the space.

‘The new look embodies TPR’s ethos, offering a tactile experience of tonal and timeless materiality, allowing clients to indulge while they move through the spaces, surrounded by the positive and empowering community that we are at TPR,’ shares Natalie.

The two main features of the salon are the reception area and the downstairs nail room. Within the reception area, there is a custom-made, gracefully curved burgundy couch that encircles a coffee table made of viola marble. The arrangement forms a comfortable seating area where clients can unwind and feel at ease as they await their treatments.

The soothing hues of the travertine reception desk warmly greet clients upon their arrival at the salon, which is adorned with brushed stainless steel shelves showcasing a variety of high-end products that clients can purchase. ‘I’m in love with the natural accents, which reflect the true essence of natural beauty. The hints of deep burgundy and subtle pinks give it that feminine edge,’ says Natalie.

The nail room boasts a personalised pedicure station, complete with burgundy seating, wooden accents, and travertine elements, all set upon a grey terrazzo floor. Positioned at the centre of the room, the manicure table is enveloped by textured walls, adorned with travertine arches, and soft semi-translucent curtains that sway in the ocean breeze, allowing the fresh coastal air to flow through the space.

Alex Morrison Interiors director, Alex Morrison, worked closely with FAF Woodwork on the joinery within the space and Beau Renos, who were in charge of the build.

‘The main challenges were ensuring we had the right finishes to sustain the functionality of the space. Natalie and I spent weeks testing samples with acetone, tint, and fake tan - you name it! It was really important to us that we undertook these steps in the initial stages of the design process to ensure we were creating something sustainable,’ says Alex.

The end result is a tranquil and airy wellness escape designed for the brand's devoted clients to unwind and indulge in a lavish pampering session.

The Parlour Room has consistently thrived as a business, and I feel fortunate that it has continued to expand. Through its journey, I’ve learned a great deal about the importance of embracing change and continuing to develop the business.
