There’s nothing quite like an Aussie summer spent outdoors, and Koala’s Torakina collection is made for exactly that: long lunches, lazy afternoons and dinners that stretch well past sunset.
Named after Torakina Beach in Brunswick Heads on the NSW North Coast, Torakina takes its cue from the outdoor furniture of coastal summers. Slatted seats and backrests recall familiar backyard settings, while ergonomic curves and rounded edges give the designs a contemporary profile.
Its four colourways, Soft Moss, Outback Rose, Beach Walk and Silver Moon, read like a snapshot of the Australian landscape. Each is applied to powder-coated steel frames, in tones that sit softly within a garden or bring a brighter note to a deck or terrace. FSC-certified teak tabletops and armrests introduce warmth and natural grain alongside the painted finishes.
Designed to be mixed and matched, the Torakina Outdoor Dining Set pairs square four-seater and rectangular six-seater tables with chairs, armchairs, benches or a combination, each seat finished with a matching cushion. The tables include an umbrella hole, wide adjustable feet for uneven ground and a bottle opener concealed within the frame.
The Torakina Outdoor Lounge Set is made up of armchairs and two- and three-seater sofas fitted with contoured, removable cushions. Square, rectangular and corner coffee tables complete the offering, forming settings for two to six people. Wide, flat teak armrests provide a surface for resting a drink, with a second bottle opener set beneath.
Materials have been chosen with Australian conditions in mind. The steel frames are double-coated for rust resistance, the cushions are stain-resistant, and each piece assembles without tools. Left untreated, the teak weathers to a soft silver patina over time, or it can be maintained with a protector to retain its original golden tone. The collection is backed by a five-year warranty.
Across the range, dining and lounge pieces share the same steel frames, teak details and palette, allowing an outdoor space to be furnished gradually or all at once.
