Roam features natural timber tones and sculptural forms are softened through comfort-led design, creating interiors that feel welcoming rather than staged.

We wanted to design pieces that feel enduring yet relaxed, furniture that doesn’t demand perfection, but becomes part of the story of a home.

Inspired by mid-century modern principles reimagined for contemporary living, Roam marks a new chapter for RJ Living, reflecting the rhythms of everyday life in our modern Australian homes.

Grounded in warmth and practicality, Roam embraces interiors that feel layered and personal, where furniture becomes part of daily life rather than simply decoration.

Spanning living, dining, bedroom, storage and accent pieces, Roam is designed to support the rhythms of everyday living, balancing clean forms with comfort and adaptability. Rather than defining a single aesthetic, the collection is intended for homes in motion, responding to spaces shaped by family, routine and change.

Natural materials sit at the heart of the collection, with rich timber tones bringing warmth and depth throughout. Sculptural forms are balanced through softer detailing and thoughtful proportions, while earthy palettes and tactile finishes create a grounded presence within a space. The pieces feel relaxed and approachable, balancing beautiful forms with everyday practicality.

Longevity plays an important role in Roam’s design approach. Drawing on the lasting appeal of vintage furniture and mid-century modern principles, the collection reflects a focus on character, craftsmanship and durability. Designed with versatility in mind, each piece can adapt as routines and lifestyles shift, allowing the furniture to evolve naturally over time.

‘This collection represents a real milestone for us,’ says David Janovic, founder of RJ Living. ‘It’s our most expansive release to date, but more importantly, it reflects how our customers truly live. We wanted to design pieces that feel enduring yet relaxed, furniture that doesn’t demand perfection, but becomes part of the story of a home. It’s a confident step forward for the brand and a reflection of how we see modern Australian living evolving.’

At the centre of the collection is the brand’s muse, Odette, a modern Australian woman balancing work, family and home life, drawn to vintage pieces for the continuity and story they bring to a space. Her appreciation for the past sits comfortably alongside the practical needs of modern living, shaping a collection that balances nostalgia with functionality. The name Roam reflects this movement through both home and day, acknowledging spaces that shift between moments of work, rest and connection.

The Roam collection is presented through immersive showroom installations layered with florals, natural textures and soft fragrance, inviting visitors to slow down and experience the furniture through touch, scent and atmosphere. It’s an approach that reflects the intention behind Roam itself—design that reveals its character over time, with pieces created to be lived with and treasured for years to come.
