Table Manners—Euro-leaning Plates, Bronte Pace

Euro-inspired Table Manners sets a neighbourhood rhythm in a bright, mural-wrapped space. If Europe wasn’t on the cards this year, let the service and considered cellar do the transporting!

With interiors designed by Blainey North, the space trades nautical touches for a restrained, welcoming aesthetic.

If Euro summer didn’t happen for you this year, Bronte has a fix that doesn’t require a passport! Table Manners channels the neighbourhood rooms of Paris and the Ligurian coast—service-led, seafood-leaning and a little dressed up.

Opened last August as Alex Cameron’s first solo venture, it’s Euro-inspired in the best way: the hospitality is the point, the food is familiar but intent, and the wine list invites you to stay a while.

The interior, designed by Blainey North, avoids seaside clichés. A light, 75-seat dining space pairs white tablecloths with sea-green chairs and soft textures. Bec Fernon’s hand-painted mural loops sea creatures and wine bottles around the walls—playful, but kept on the right side of whimsy. Tucked alongside is a snug six-seat bar and lounge and a 14-person semi-private room.

The menu is concise: a now-signature Moreton Bay bug club sandwich arrives generously layered, crispy spaghetti all’Assassina brings chilli heat, and lemon-polenta madeleines finish with lemon zest and a light crumb. It reads European—relaxed for Bronte—built to share, order a little more and linger.

The 400-bottle wine list threads classic houses and vintages with newer, cult names, and 30 by the glass makes it easy to roam without committing to a bottle. Cocktails sit in a classic register, and BYO at lunch lets locals flex their own cellars—a neighbourly gesture that matches the brief.

Table Manners isn’t angling to be an ‘occasion’ restaurant, though it can carry one. It’s built for return visits—the mid-week glass, the family lunch, the catch-up that stretches. Elegance with coastal informality, a Euro sensibility recast for Bronte: when you can’t get to Europe, Table Manners brings a little of it to you!
