The MG Suite offers a refined yet welcoming retreat, inspired by Paisano & Daughters’ restaurant, Mister Grotto, downstairs.
Indulgent touches are found throughout the suites—with some of Sydney’s best food, cocktails and wine just downstairs.
The Flora Suite is a light-filled boutique apartment featuring curated Australian art, bespoke furnishings and warm, inviting interiors above one of Sydney's best vegetarian restaurants.
“Whether you’re a Sydneysider on a weekend break or visiting from the other side of the world, Newtown has something unique to offer... we’re proud to back the Inner West, and we hope others do too.”

The Flora Suite is a light-filled boutique apartment featuring artwork by Toni Clarke, bespoke furnishings and warm, inviting interiors above one of Sydney's best vegetarian restaurants.
The Mucca Suite bathroom blends classic checkerboard tiling, fluted glass, and dual marble basins with Leif amenities and greenery for an experience that feels both elevated and grounded.

Sydney’s beaches might be the headline act—but it’s the Inner West where the real stories unfold. At least, that’s the call from Paisano & Daughters.
In Newtown, the rhythm is slower, the stories richer, the community tighter. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back — or, in the case of Paisano & Daughters, staying for 25 years. Their latest project is more than accommodation. It’s a tribute to the streets they call home.
The final piece of the Australia Street puzzle is here. What started a decade ago with Continental Deli has grown into a full block of beloved venues and now, somewhere special to stay. This year, after more than four years in the making, the team has opened Flora, Mister Grotto, Osteria Mucca — and now, Australia Street Suites: three thoughtfully designed, two-bedroom apartments offering a luxury foodie escape in the heart of Newtown.
For co-founder Joe Valore, it’s a chance to invite the rest of Sydney—and the world—to see the Inner West through their eyes. ‘Sydney’s beaches and harbour might get all the postcards,’ he says, ‘but here, the streets tell the real story—layered, lively and full of heart.’
Located in the heritage-listed H. May building just off King Street, the suites — Flora, MG, and Mucca — feel more like lived-in apartments than hotel rooms. Generous, light-filled and grounded in thoughtful detail, they celebrate local makers and brands: furniture by Jardan, art by Toni Clark and Kyle Murrell, AH Beard beds, Sheridan linens, McMullin mirrors, Leif body products, and Byron Bay’s Mayde Tea.
But the magic goes beyond interiors. Set above four of the Inner West’s top restaurants, guests can pre-order curated arrivals—oysters and champagne from Mister Grotto, cheese and charcuterie from Continental, a Mar-tinny or Mexi-can Margarita, even the iconic Flan in a Can. It’s full immersion into the best of Sydney dining, without leaving the building.
Whether you're a local in search of a slow weekend, an interstate guest chasing galleries and gigs, or a visitor seeking the real Sydney—Australia Street Suites is a place to stay, eat, and truly connect.
Because in the eyes of Paisano & Daughters, it’s time we all backed the Inner West. And this is your invitation.
To celebrate the opening, all guests who book a stay of two nights or more in April, May or June 2025 will receive a $200 dining voucher to use at any of the restaurants downstairs: Continental Deli, Mister Grotto, Flora or Osteria Mucca.
